Vacancy Details

Eligibility for Junior Office Assistant (IT)

• Essential Qualification:
  1. 10+2 Examination from a recognized Board of School Education/University.
  OR
  2. Matriculation from recognized Board with 1/2 year Diploma/Certificate from ITI in Information Technology (IT) & ITES.
  OR
  3. Three years Diploma in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/IT from AICTE-approved Polytechnic.
  
  Note: Candidates must have passed Matriculation and 10+2 from any School/Institution situated within Himachal Pradesh (This condition does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis).
  
  4. Typing Speed: Computer typing speed of 30 words per minute in English or 25 words per minute in Hindi is required.
• Experience: Not specified.
• Desirable: Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh.

Salary & Age Limit

Salary: The post carries a consolidated fixed amount of Rs. 12,500/- per month.

Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026):

• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum: 45 years
• Relaxation: Upper age limit relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates who are domiciles of Himachal Pradesh, HP Govt employees, and Ex-servicemen of HP.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of two stages:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT) / Written Screening Test: Objective type test of 120 marks (1½ hours duration). Minimum qualifying marks: 45% for General, 40% for SC/ST/OBC/WFF.
2. Typing Test: Mandatory and qualifying in nature. Candidates must achieve 30 wpm in English or 25 wpm in Hindi.

Application Fee

• General Candidates: ₹800 (Examination fee ₹100 + Processing fee ₹700)
• Correction Fee: ₹100 (Correction window opens for 7 days after 3 working days from closing date)
• Fee is payable only through online mode and is non-refundable.
