Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

  • Minimum Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10th class examination (Matriculation) or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized Board.
  • Technical Qualification: Must possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the designated trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).
  • Important Notes:
    • Candidates awaiting ITI/NTC results are NOT eligible.
    • Engineering Graduates and Diploma Holders are NOT eligible for this apprenticeship scheme.
    • Employment Exchange Registration is mandatory (current and valid as of 28/02/2026). Preference given to candidates registered in Karnataka.

2. Age Limit

Candidates must have completed 15 years and should not have completed 24 years of age as on 01 March 2026 (cut-off date).

Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 years relaxation.
  • OBC: 3 years relaxation.

3. Mandatory Requirements

  • Physical Fitness: Candidates must satisfy minimum standards as per the Apprentices Act, 1961. A medical certificate from a Gazetted Doctor (Assistant Surgeon or above) is required before engagement.
  • Document Verification: Name, Father’s/Mother’s name, and Date of Birth must exactly match Matriculation certificates.

Selection Process

There is no written examination. Selection is purely based on merit.

  1. Merit List: Prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained in the 10th Standard (aggregate of all subjects).
  2. Tie-Breaking Rule:
    • If marks are equal, the older candidate is preferred.
    • If age is also the same, the candidate who passed the 10th exam earlier is preferred.
  3. Document Verification: Final selection is subject to verification of original testimonials.
