The recruitment work for Non-technical popular categories in respect of Danapur and Dhanbad divisions which had been entrusted to Railway Service Commission, Muzaffarpur was also handed over to the new Commission at Danapur.
The new Railway Service Commission at Danapur started functioning in full-fledged manner on 16th May, 1981. Subsequently, Railway Board vide its letter dated 31st July 1981 also gave to the Railway Service Commission, Danapur the power to make recruitment for Chittaranjan Locomotive Works. The Railway Board's letter dated 30th June, 1981 also transferred the administrative control of Railway Service Commission, Ranchi from Railway Service commission, Calcutta to Railway Service Commission, Danapur.
