Sálim Ali Centre for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON), under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India wishes to engage the following research personnel (Indian national only) on purely temporary basis through online Interview to be conducted by SACON for the shortlisted candidates. Details of the vacancies and application procedures are given below.

1. Post Name: Senior Research Biologist – 01 Position

2. Project Title: Monitoring of avifauna for the areas of Sewri, Thane creek and adjoining region as part of Environmental monitoring programme

3. Essential Qualifications:

Post graduate degree in Wildlife biology/ Ecology/ Zoology/ Environmental Science, 2) Two years of field research experience in the relevant field and 3) Minimum of one peer-reviewed publication

4. Desirable Qualifications:

Research experience in avifaunal studies/ Environmental Impact Assessments/ Wildlife surveys. Expertise in Bird identification/ ringing/ tagging etc., Experience in ecological data collection, analysis and Report writing, Good command over English & Hindi

5. Fellowship: Rs 35,000 + HRA

6. Description of Work: The work involves extensive travel, strenuous field work and data collection from field sites with bare minimum facilities. Also involves data collection analysis and writing periodic reports.

 

1. Post Name: Junior Research Biologist – 01 Position

2. Project Title: Bird /Wildlife Hazards to aircrafts in Indian Civil airfields- Calicut

3. Essential Qualifications: Post graduate degree in Wildlife biology/ Ecology/ Zoology/ Environmental Science

4. Desirable Qualifications:

Research experience in avifaunal studies/ Environmental Impact Assessments/ Wildlife surveys. Expertise in Bird identification/ ringing/ tagging etc., Experience in ecological data collection, analysis and Report writing, Good command over English & Hindi.

5. Fellowship: Rs 31,000 + HRA

6. Description of Work: The work involves extensive travel and stay at field sites with bare minimum facilities for the collection of field data on avifauna. Involves strenuous field work and data collection analysis and writing periodic reports.

 

1. Post Name: Junior Research Fellow/ Junior Research Biologist – 01 Position

2. Project Title: A non-invasive approach to understanding the habitat use, activity regime, and movement ecology of Indian Rock Python, Python molurus from two select locations in India

3. Essential Qualifications: 

Post graduate degree with minimum 55% in Wildlife Biology/ Zoology/Conservation Biology/ Biodiversity and Conservation/ Animal Sciences/ Environment Science/Conservation and Animal Science related subjects

4. Desirable Qualifications: Excellent communication skill in English, Proficiency in Hindi language, Two-wheeler/Four Wheeler Driving License, 4) NET/GATE qualification

5. Fellowship: Rs. 31,000 + HRA (25,000+ HRA for Non NET/GATE candidates)

6. Description of Work: The work involves extensive travel and stays at field sites with bare minimum facilities for the collection of field data on Indian Rock Python. Involves strenuous fieldwork and data collection analysis and writing periodic reports.

Selection Procedure

1. The details of the online interview Will be informed to the Shortlisted candidates well in advance. If selected, all original documents in support of qualitications, age, experience etc.

2. The shortlisted candidates will be informed through email/telephone to attend an on-line interview. The details of the online interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates well in advance.

4. After all the Educational certificates add other documents also in Chronological order.

5. Each application form Should be complete along with copies of testimonials to essential and desirable qualifications, research experience, date of birth, community, extracurricular activities etc

6. Please DO NOT send hard copies of the application forms now. The shortlisted candidates will be informed through email/telephone to attend an online interview.

7. Should be produced by the candidate for verification before joining SACON and submit the hard copies of the filled-in application forms along with self-attested true copies ot all supporting documents at the time ot joining It selected, all original documents should be produced for verification before joining the center
