Online applications are invited from the prospective candidates for recruitment of 476 (four hundred seventy six) posts of Lecturers (Direct Payment Posts) in different subjects in the Scale of Pay of Rs.44,900/ 1,42,400/- (as per Pay Matrix -Level 10) of ORSP Rules, 2017 plus usual DA as admissible from time to time for the teachers of Non-Government Aided Colleges of Odisha. Candidates are required to apply online through website www.ssbodisha.ac.in at the link available on this site. No other means/mode of submission of applications will be accepted. The schedule of online application is as follows: ADVERTISEMENT NO.006/2022 1. Name of the Post: Lecturers 2. No of Post: 476 3. Educational Qualification: A candidate should possess a Master's Degree in the subject concerned from a recognized University with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade on the date of application. Provided that, a candidate belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, SEBC and/or PwD shall possess a Master's Degree in the subject concerned from a recognized University with at least 50% marks or its equivalent grade. 4. Age Limit: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 (Twenty One) years and must not be above the age of 42 (Forty Two) years as on 1st day of January, 2022, i.e. she/he must not have been born not earlier than 2nd January 1980 and not later than 1st January 2001.
The selection shall be on the basis of written test, career and viva-voce test taken together. The distribution of marks for the career assessment is as follows:
1. Career Assessment: Marks: 25 - Candidates possessing M.Phil., Ph.D. & NET shall be awarded maximum 25 marks. Similarly, candidates possessing M.Phil./J.R.F. &/or NET or M.Phil. with NET will be awarded a maximum of 10 marks.
2. There shall be a Written Examination of two hours duration in the subject concerned as per the syllabus uploaded in the website (which may be considered as a model syllabus at par with the curriculum recommended by different Universities and leading Colleges of the State) carrying 150 marks. Questions for the 150 marks shall be of Multiple Choice types which are to be answered in OMR Sheet. There shall be 100 questions having equal weightage. For each right answer, 1.5 marks will be awarded and for each wrong answer 0.5 marks will be deducted.
3. The candidates shall be called in for document verification by the State Selection Board in order of merit equal to three times the number of vacancies in cach subject. To be eligible for shortlisting, a candidate has to secure minimum qualifying marks of 40% (30% in case of ST/SC/SEBC/PwD candidates) in written examination.
(i) In case of tie for shortlisting, the Written Test marks will be taken into consideration and accordingly the panel for interview will be prepared.
(ii) In case of tie for final selection of candidates, the marks secured in both Written Test and Viva voce will be taken into consideration. If there is a second tie, then the aggregate percentage of marks secured in the Post Graduate Examination will be considered. In case of further tie, the dates of birth of the sclected candidates will be taken into account for considering the seniority between the two and final merit list will be prepared accordingly.

2. Candidates must go through the detailed Instructions before filling up online Application form.
3. Candidates are required to upload their latest passport size photographs along with scanned image of his/her full signature and left hand thumb impression, which must be clearly identifiable/ visible. Otherwise, the application of the candidate is liable to be rejected.
4. The requisite fees must be deposited online at the time of submission of online application form.
5. Candidates are required to mention name of the discipline clearly while mentioning the name of post/service on the front page of the online application form.
6. Candidates short listed for viva-voce test are required to submit along with the Print-Out/Hard-Copy of Online Applications, true copies of academic qualifications duly attested by the candidate himself/ herself. The candidates are also required to put their full signature on each document.
7. Suppression of facts or uploading of wrong information shal amount to rejection of candidature at any stage. Canvassing in any form will lead to cancellation of candidature. Decision of the State Selection Board in regard to eligibility or selection of candidate shall be final and binding.

The office of the State Selection Board, Department of Higher Education was set up by the Government of Odisha as a statutory body in the year 1975 under the erstwhile Education & Youth Services Department for carrying out the selection of suitable candidates against the sanctioned Direct Payment posts in the state Cadre (both in teaching and non-teaching) in the aided non-government colleges of the state. It was also entrusted with the responsibilities for selection of suitable candidates for teaching and nonteaching posts both in the Government and aided schools of the State in pursuance of Sub-Section(2) and (3) of Section 10 of the Odisha Education Act, 1969 (Odisha Act 15 of 1969) read with Rule 4 of the Odisha Educational (Recruitment and conditions of service of Teachers and Members of the Staff of the Aided Educational Institutions ) Rules, 1974. It was also declared by the Government of Odisha as a permanent body in the year 1987.
