The Government of Tamilnadu has constituted the Teachers Recruitment Board to conduct various Test for the selection of teachers under different sectors such as Secondary Grade Teachers, BT, PG, Special Teachers, Computer Instructors, Agricultural Instructors and BEOs in the respective Departments of School Education and Elementary Education Department, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, Backward classes, Most Backward classes and Minorities Welfare Department, Social Defence Department, Chennai Corporation and Coimbatore Corporation.
Junior Lecturers, Lecturers and Senior Lecturers in SCERT and in Higher Education Department for the post of Assistant Professors, Lecturers in Government Engineering Colleges and Government Arts and Science Colleges, Government Polytechnic Colleges and in Government Law Colleges respectively. Following the guidelines of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009, the Teachers Recruitment Board took up the responsibility of conducting TNTET (Tamilnadu Teacher Eligibility Test) from 2012 onwards.
