Sub: - Inviting application for Contractual engagement of Assistant Public Prosecutor/ Additional Govt. Pleader— Regarding. i. The Administration of the Union Territory of Lakshadweep is proposed for contractual appointment of Assistant Public Prosecutor/ Additional Govt. Pleader through interview to function in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep as per the following criteria and terms and conditions, 1. Post Name: Assistant Public Prosecutor/ Additional Govt Pleader 2. No of Post: 02 3. Period Contract: a. The contractual engagement is for a period of ONE YEAR ONLY. The engagement will automatically stand terminated on the completion of contract period. The renewal/ or fresh contract is on the sole discretion of the Appointing Authority. b. The said engagement on contractual basis may be terminated at any time by a month's prior notice given by either side and without assigning any reason c. The Govt., however, reserves the right to terminate the services forthwith or before the expiry of the stipulated period of notice by making payment to him of a sum equivalent to the consolidated remuneration for the period of notice or the unexpired portion thereof. 4. Salary: Basic monthly remuneration of the appointee shall be Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty thousand) only. The appointee shall also be eligible for an appearance fees of Rs.450/- per case. No other allowances will be admissible. The appointee shall also not be entitled to any benefits like PF, gratuity etc. TADA during engagement period for special duty will be given the rate same as applicable to the scale of pay of regular APP (i.e. Pay Matrix Level 7). 5. Qualification: A degree in law from a recognized university. Knowledge in Malayalam language. 6. Desirable: Thorough knowledge of Civil & Criminal procedure, Evidence Act and basic principles of law & Constitution. Communication skill in English & Malayalam Language. 7. Experience: Minimum three years' experience at the Bar is essential Appearance in at least 10 cases each in civil & criminal nature before trial court(s).

Selection Procedure
Date and time of interview will be intimated to the short listed candidates through email.

2. The awarding of marks/criteria for finalization of candidates is the sole discretion of the selection committee. The decision of the selection committee will be the final in respect of the matter in case of any dispute arising in selection process
3. The interview will be conducted at Administrative Office, Lakshadweep Office Building, Willingdon Island, Indira Gandhi Road, Kochi-3.
