Educational Qualification: M.Sc
1. Name of the Position: Project Fellow
2. Total No. of Posts : 18 Nos
3. Title / Research Area: Identification novel anticandidal compounds from plant and microbial sources
4. Qualification: M.Sc., degree in Microbiology / Life Science with first class, M.Sc., degree in Zoology / Life Science with first class
5. Desirable Qualification:
A good academic record working experience in microbiology and molecular biology techniques will be preferred. A good academic record working experience in phytochemistry will be preferred.
1. Title / Research Area: Endocytosis and vesicular trafficking mechanism in health and diseases: Impact of natural compounds
2. Qualification: M.Sc in Biochemistry/ Life Sciences with minimum of 60% marks/ CGPA 6.1 and above
3. Desirable Qualification: NET/SLET qualified, Experience in cell culture and molecular biology work, Good Communication and writing skills
1. Title / Research Area: Development of Molecular marker and therapeutic intervention for metabolic disorders
2. Qualification: M.Sc., Biochemistry, biotechnology, Biological Sciences, M.Tech., Biotechnology or any other biomedical Master degree
3. Desirable Qualification: Research training in Biomedical Sciences with hands on training in cell culture, in-vitro and in vivo studies.
1. Title / Research Area: Efficacy of ethanolic extract of Mucuna pruriens in pre-clinical animal models of ischemia induced cellular degeneration and identification of the probable bioactive components and molecular mechanisms
2. Qualification: First Class Postgraduate degree in Anatomy/ Neuroscience (Faculty of Medicine) M.Sc., degree in Zoology / Life Science with first class M.Sc., degree in Zoology / Biotechnology/ Life Science with first class
3. Desirable Qualification:
Work experience in Animal experiments is mandatory. Prior experience in rodent models of neurological conditions like cerebrovascular diseases, cerebral stroke, brain hypo perfusion, motor paralysis highly preferable. A good academic record working experience in animal handling and in vitro cell culture handling will be preferred.
1. Title / Research Area: Modulatory effect of Celastrus paniculatus on neuroimmuno endocrine network in neurodegenerative diseases
2. Qualification: M.Sc., Physiology with 60% marks M.Sc., degree in Zoology / Life Science with first class M.Sc., degree in Microbiology / Life Science with first class
3. Desirable Qualification: A good academic record and working experience in animal handling and molecular biology techniques will be preferred. Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English are desirable A good academic record working experience in neuro cell line and animal handling will be preferred
4. Project Fellow Salary Rs.18,000/- per month (Consolidated)
5. Duration One Year (Extendable depending on performance)
6 The post is to be filled up on purely temporary basis. The duration of the post is co-terminable with the project.

The University of Madras is a public state university in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Established in 1857, it is one of the oldest and among the most prominent universities in India, incorporated by an act of the Legislative Council of India under the British government.
In 1912 endowments were made to the University to establish departments of Indian History, Archaeology, Comparative Philology, and Indian Economics. In all, there were 17 University departments, 30 University teachers, 69 research scholars, and 127 University publications in that year and the budget was Rs.11 lakhs. Later, the research and teaching functions of the University were encouraged by the Sadler Commission and the gains of the University were consolidated by the enactment of the Madras University Act of 1923. At this time, the territorial ambit of Madras University encompassed Berhampur of Orissa and Hyderabad of Andhra Pradesh in the North, Trivandrum of Kerala in the South West, and Bangalore and Mangalore of Karnataka in the West.
