Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Pilot (Class-I)

• Essential Qualification: Must hold a certificate of competency as Master of Foreign Going Ship issued by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India. All qualifications should be recognized and approved in India by AICTE/UGC/appropriate statutory authority/competent authority.
• Experience: One year post-qualification experience as Master or Chief Officer of a foreign going ship.
• Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as on 04/02/2026. Age relaxation for SC/ST candidates as per rules.
• Training: Selected candidates will initially undergo training for a period of 6 months as Trainee Pilot.

Salary

Basic Pay: Rs.70,000 – 2,00,000/- in IDA scale. In addition to basic pay, benefits include DA on industrial pattern, accommodation or HRA, cafeteria allowance, National Pension System (NPS), group insurance, medical facilities, encashment of earned leave and applicable marine allowances as per rules.

Selection Process

Applications will be scrutinized to ensure eligibility. The Port Authority reserves the right to shortlist candidates for written test/personal interview based on qualification and experience. Mere submission of application does not guarantee a call for interview. Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.
