The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier national autonomous Institute of the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF&CC), Government of India in the field of teaching, training and research. WII wishes to engage a Project Scientist - I (Indian national only) through an interview, last date of application is on Tuesday, 11 th January 2022. The details of the available position along with essential and desirable qualifications, terms and conditions and how to apply are given below: 1. Project Title: Resource Selection by Black Kites Milvus migrans – Demographic outcomes of diverse behavioural strategies assessed in resident and migratory populations of Black Kites Milvus migrans. 2. Post: 01 – Project Scientist - I 3. Essential Qualification: Applicant must possess a Doctoral Degree (PhD/equivalent from a recognised university) in wildlife science/zoology/ Life sciences 4. Desirable Qualification: Candidates with interest in field-oriented wildlife research, quantitative and analytical skills, good writing skills and publication record, and having work experience on raptor research. 5. Description of Work: Work involves population monitoring of Black Kites, radio-telemetry based field research/behavioural observations. Project supervision, Data analysis, publications and application of research for practical real life problems. 6. Duration: One Year (likely to be extended further) 7. Salary: The Project Scientist - I shall be paid monthly remuneration of 56000/- +HRA

The Wildlife Institute of India is a nodal national agency for research and training in the field of wildlife conservation. The institute is a four-star top rated accredited institute as per the Capacity Building Commission amongst all National Civil Service Training Institute. Its mandate includes generating quality knowledge in wildlife science and complement national efforts in wildlife conservation. Established in 1982, Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is an internationally acclaimed Institution, which offers training program, academic courses and advisory in wildlife research and management. The Institute is actively engaged in research across the breadth of the country on biodiversity related issues.
The Institute's idyllic campus that has been carefully developed to create state of the art infrastructure encourages scholarly work. WII's research projects being conducted in field sites across the length and breadth of the country are the primary sources of scientific information to help conservation. They are also the means of keeping the institute's faculty abreast of current field situations and the latest technology.
