This position is purely on contract basis for a period of six months, with the opportunity for extension. The EQ, DQ and other details are provided below:
1. Post Name: Project Associate II (01 Post)
2. Essential Qualification (EQ):
Master’s degree in social sciences/ sustainable development/ economics/political science/ sociology/ social work/ Wildlife Science/ Environmental Science/ Biodiversity & Conservation from a recognised university or equivalent AND 2 years experience in Research and development in industrial and academic institutions or Science and technology Organisation and Scientific activities and services
3. Work description & Key responsibilities:
i. Experience of working on community mobilization, formation of groups and livelihood issues of local communities in the project site Co-design research and timelines in collaboration with partners and stakeholders Working with other staff and local government units identify relevant stakeholders’ to be engaged at focal sites
ii. Lead and co-ordinate field participatory research methods (key informant interviews and focus group discussions) To collect and manage data To liaise with researchers and other team members regarding the analysis and coordination of the project in general TO analyse and present the findings and outcomes of the research to the team and other stakeholders To prepare technical report and one manuscript for publication
4. Duration: Six months
5. Location of project area: The post will be based in Dehradun, India and field sites in Jharkhand and West Bengal
6. Emoluments:
(i) 35,000/- +HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility tests- CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or
(b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
(ii) 28,000/- +HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

3. Work description & Key responsibilities:
a. Support with the field logistics To liaise with researchers and other team members regarding the analysis and coordination of the project in general To analyse and present the findings and outcomes of the research to the team and other stakeholders To support in preparation of technical report and one manuscript for publication
4. Duration: Six months
5. Location of project area: The post will be based in Dehradun, India and field sites in Jharkhand and West Bengal
6. Emoluments:
(i) 31,000/- +HRA to Scholars who are selected through
(a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIRUGCNET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or
(b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
(ii) 25,000/- +HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

1. The selection will be on the basis of Interview. The performance if the candidate will be in accordance with the performance in the interview and in order of merit as decided by the Interview/Selection Committee.
2. The shortlisted candidate will be called for Interview.

2. The date of Walk-in-Interview is 25th February 2022
3. The Candidate should send duly filled application form to the Registrar, Wildlife Institute of India, Chandrabani, Dehradun, 248002 within one month from the date of publication of the advertisement.
(1) Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories may be relaxed as per government rules.
(2) Application form should be in the prescribed format, with self-attested copies of documents on educational qualifications, extracurricular activities, date of birth, mark sheet of all examinations, community certificate (if sought relaxation as per Government of India rules), etc. The application form is attached herewith.
(3) If selected, then the candidates have to provide original documents for verification at the time of joining.
(4) At the time of verification of original documents or even after selection, if it is found that an attempt has been made by the applicant to willfully concern, misrepresent or canvass the facts, such application will be rejected, and due action will be taken against the candidate.
(5) The Director WII, reserves the right to reject any candidature in view of incomplete information provided by the candidate or for any other reason thereof.

The Wildlife Institute of India is a nodal national agency for research and training in the field of wildlife conservation.
