The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehra Dun invites application for engagement of the following Project Personnel in the Project “Causes and Remedies for Man and Animal Conflict in Uttar Pradesh”purely on contractual basis for a period of 6 months.
1. The project proposes to carryout investigations on the causes of HumanWildlife Conflicts in Uttar Pradesh, including compilation of conflict report, mapping of conflict hotspot, review of mitigation measures being implemented in the state, and other associated aspects.

4. Essential Qualification: Doctoral degree in Wildlife Science/ Ecology / Forestry / Environmental Sciences/ Life Sciences
5. Desirable Qualification: Research experience in projects dealing with HumanWildlife Conflict, Population ecology, animal behaviour, analytical and writing skills as demonstrated by research publications / reports
6. Work description: Conduct and Coordinate field investigations on HumanWildlife Conflicts in Uttar Pradesh, including compilation of conflict reports, secondary data, use of RS & GIS, risk modelling, mapping of conflict hotspot, review of mitigation measures being implemented in the state, and other associated aspects as per the directions of the supervising faculty in close coordination with the forest department and the team members.
7. Duration: 6 months
8. Location of Project sites HQ and field sites in Uttar Pradesh
9. Emoluments Rs56,000/- month + HRA as admissible
10.The tenure in the project will be governed by the Institute’s rules and regulations

5. Desirable Qualification: Knowledge /research experience on Human-Wildlife Conflict, Population ecology, and animal behaviour, Knowledge/experience in the use of RS & GIS, database maintenance, data analysis and report writing
6. Work description: Conduct field investigations on Human- Wildlife Conflicts in Uttar Pradesh, including compilation of conflict reports, secondary data, mapping of conflict hotspot, review of mitigation measures being implemented in the state, and other associated aspects as per the directions of the supervising faculty in close coordination with the forest department.
7. Duration: 6 months

1. The shortlisted candidates will be notified (through email and website notification) for online personal interview by 4 th March 2022. The online interview will be held on 7 th& 8th March 2022 from 1000 hrs onwards.
2. The selection of the candidates will be in accordance with the performance in the interview and in order of merit as decided by the Interview Committee.
1 .The candidates are required to submit their completed application forms in PDF format, with accompanying attachments, by email (with subject line: “Application for the post of (Post Name) in Project “Man and Animal Conflict in Uttar Pradesh” to [email protected] not later than1700 hrs on 28th February 2022.
2. A hard copy of the application along with attachments (with subject line: “Application for the post of (post name) in the Project “Man and Animal Conflict in Uttar Pradesh” should also be sent by post to The Registrar, Wildlife Institute of India, Chandrabani, Dehradun 248001, Uttarakhand.
3. All original documents should be produced at the time of interview. The decision of the Institute’s Committee in all matters relating to eligibility, work experience, acceptance or rejection of application will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence will be entertained from any individual.
4. Application forms needs to be typed according to the prescribed format and must be accompanied by:
(a) Scanned copies of educational qualifications, and
(b) Scanned copies of experience letter/ certificate, failing which applications will not be considered.
5. The applications received after the deadline will be rejected by the Institute.
6. At the time of verification of original documents, if it is found that an attempt has been made by the applicant to wilfully conceal, misrepresent or canvass the facts, his/her candidature will not be considered.

The Wildlife Institute of India is a nodal national agency for research and training in the field of wildlife conservation. The institute is a four-star top rated accredited institute as per the Capacity Building Commission amongst all National Civil Service Training Institute. Its mandate includes generating quality knowledge in wildlife science and complement national efforts in wildlife conservation. Established in 1982, Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is an internationally acclaimed Institution, which offers training program, academic courses and advisory in wildlife research and management. The Institute is actively engaged in research across the breadth of the country on biodiversity related issues.
The Institute's idyllic campus that has been carefully developed to create state of the art infrastructure encourages scholarly work. WII's research projects being conducted in field sites across the length and breadth of the country are the primary sources of scientific information to help conservation. They are also the means of keeping the institute's faculty abreast of current field situations and the latest technology.
