The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun invites application for walk-in-interview for engaging Project Personnel for an IUCN-KFW Phase II funded collaborative project between Wildlife Institute of India and Zoological Society of London entitled “Supporting trans-boundary recovery in India and Nepal”. This proposed project aims to contribute towards a viable tiger meta-population in the Terai Arc Landscape (TAL)

1. Post Name : Project Scientist I/ Project Scientist II  (Community Livelihood/Human Wildlife Conflict)

2. Essential Qualification (EQ) : Doctoral degree in Social Sciences/Rural Development / Environmental Science / Wildlife Sciences/ Forest Management/ Life Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent. (Project Scientist I) OR Doctoral degree in Social Sciences/Rural Development / Environmental Science / Wildlife Sciences/ Forest Management/ Life Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent. AND Three years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services. (Project Scientist II)

3. Duration : One Year

4. Location of project area : The post will be based in Dehradun, India and field sites in Nandhaur Landscape, Uttarakhand

5. Emoluments : 

a) Project Scientist I 56,000/- + HRA Increment of 5% for every 2 years of experience subject to performance review.

b) Project Scientist II 67,000/- + HRA Increment of 5% for every 2 years of experience subject to performance review.

a) Project Associate-I (01) : (i) 31,000/- +HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility tests- CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. (ii) 25,000/- +HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

b) Project Associate- II (01) (i) 35,000/- +HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility tests- CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. (ii) 28,000/- +HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.

2. Essential Qualification (EQ) : Master’s degree in Wildlife Sciences / Environmental Science / / Forest Management / Life Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent.( Project Associate-I) OR Master’s degree in Wildlife Sciences / Environmental Science / Wildlife Sciences / Forest Management/Life Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent. AND 2 years experience in Research and development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and Services. (Project Associate- II)

3. Duration : One Year

Selection Procedure

1. The shortlisting of candidates will be based on a combination of Essential and Desirable Qualifications mentioned in the advertisement. The shortlisted candidates will be notified (through email and website notification) for online/personal interview.

3. The positions advertised are purely temporary/ contractual for the project period only and will stand abolished after completion of the project.
