About Oil India Limited Critical Mineral Exploration Programme

Oil India Limited (OIL) is a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking and the second-largest national upstream oil & gas company in India. OIL has announced recruitment for 3 Contractual Geologist posts under its Critical Mineral Exploration Programme, placed under the Centre of Excellence for Energy Studies (CoEES), Guwahati, Assam. Selected candidates will be deployed at field locations in Rajasthan and Arunachal Pradesh. The work is purely temporary and may involve shifts, arduous and hazardous jobs at remote OIL installations, and On-Call duty.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Educational Qualification (Both Posts)

• M.Sc. (Geology / Applied Geology) or M.Tech. (Geology / Applied Geology) of minimum two years duration from a Government recognized University/Institute.

Desirable Experience (Both Posts)

• In-depth knowledge of Economic Geology, Mineral Deposits and Ore Genesis relevant to exploration and exploitation of mineral resources.
• Publications in reputed journals and/or conference proceedings in the above fields will be an added advantage.
• Experience in field geological mapping and mineral resource estimation in mineralized zones.
• Prior work experience in mining-related industries preferred.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years for all candidates.
• Maximum age: 40 years (General) and 43 years (OBC-NCL), counted as on the date of walk-in registration.
• Class 10 Admit Card, Pass Certificate, or Marksheet from a Government recognized education board is accepted as proof of date of birth.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

1. Registration: Candidates must complete registration at the respective venue between 09:00 AM and 11:00 AM. No candidate is allowed to register beyond this date and time under any circumstances.
2. Document Verification: Original documents are verified against claimed eligibility. Only candidates meeting the notified eligibility criteria are allowed to appear for the interview.
3. Walk-in Interview (100 marks): Assessment is based on Professional Knowledge and skills (concerned discipline), Professional Knowledge and skills (allied discipline), and Personal Attributes and Soft Skills.
4. Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50 out of 100 for all categories.
5. Final Selection: Purely merit-based on interview marks, with 50 or above required.

Screening Clause: If registrations exceed interview capacity, the interview for remaining candidates will be carried forward to subsequent days as required.

No TA/DA will be paid. Candidates must make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. No reimbursement is provided for joining.

Required Documents & Instructions for Candidates

Candidates must bring the following in original and one set of self-attested copies on the date of registration and interview:

1. Filled Personal Bio-Data Form (format available on the last 2 pages of the advertisement).
2. One recent 3cm × 3cm coloured passport photograph.
3. Valid Photo Identity Proof and valid Address Proof issued by a Competent Government Authority.
4. Date of Birth Proof: Class X certificate containing date of birth.
5. Class 10 Admit Card, Marksheet and Pass Certificate.
6. All semester/year marksheets, final marksheet, Pass Certificate for essential qualifications and Experience Certificate(s) as applicable.
7. Valid Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC), Non-Creamy Layer Certificate, EWS Income and Asset Certificate, Disability Certificate, and Discharge Book/Service and Release Certificate for Ex-Servicemen — each if applicable.
8. Valid No Objection Certificate if employed in Government Service / Public Sector Undertaking / Autonomous Bodies.
9. EPF Member Pass Book (if available), Aadhaar Card, PAN Card and Bank Pass Book.

Important Instructions

• Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply on the date of registration.
• Candidates without original documents are not allowed to appear.
• No TA/DA is paid for the interview; candidates bear their own travel costs.
• Provisional candidates must join immediately; maximum 15 days allowed if delayed, after which provisional selection is cancelled.
• At joining: fitness certificate from a Govt. registered medical practitioner, Police verification certificate, Release Letter (original), and UAN are required.
• The engagement is purely contractual and gives no right or claim to employment or regularization in OIL.
• Disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the Dibrugarh district court only.
