The Adjudicatory Board for Major Ports (ABMP) has been constituted by the Central Government in pursuance of sub-sections (1) and (2) of Section 54 and Section 55 of the Major Port Authorities (MPA) Act, 2021 on 13th August, 2025
The mandate of the ABMP is to discharge the functions listed in Section 58 (1) of the MPA Act i.e. to adjudicate any disputes / differences or claims relating to Major Ports and PPP concessionaires or Captive users within the framework of Concession Agreement, to appraise, review the stressed PPP projects and to suggest measures for revival, to look into complaints of Port Users against the services rendered by Major Ports or the Private operators, to suggest or advice on reference made by Central Government / Major Ports on port operations.
