Interview For Temporary Position Of Junior Research Fellow (1no.) In The Bioenergy Group. 1. Post Name: Junior Research Fellow (1no.) 2. No of Post: 01 3. Project Name: “Methane oxidation potential and associated methanotrophic bacterial community of tropical moist deciduous forest and grassland soils of Terai Ecozone”. Period up to: 29.12.2024 Post Code: ARI/SP-330/JRF 4. Group/ Division: Bioenergy Group 5. Essential: (i) Masters (1st class) in Microbiology or Biotechnology. (ii) Applicant must be qualified in any one of the following tests: CSIR/UGC/ICMR including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) OR GATE. National Level examination DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc., IISER etc 6. Desirable:(i)Experience in handling methane oxidizing bacteria or anaerobic bacteria. 7. Monthly stipend: Rs.31000/- + HRA 8. ADVT/RecT/08/2021-22

Selection Procedure
1. The prescribed essential qualifications are bare minimum and mere possession of same will not entitle the candidate to be called for interview. The Institute reserves the right to select the suitable candidate.
2. Display of the short list of candidates for interview: Will be displayed on the Institute website.
3. Day, Date & time of online interview: Will be communicated by email to shortlisted candidates
4. Mode of Interview: Interview will be held through 'google-meet / zoom' only.

Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) is an autonomous institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DST). It was established in 1946 as Maharashtra Association for the Cultivation of Science (MACS). Later, as the research activities started expanding, the MACS Research Institute was given a separate identity. The institute was renamed as ARI in 1992 to honour its founder Director, late Professor S. P. Agharkar. The current research and development activities of ARI are spread over six different themes, namely Biodiversity & Paleobiology, Bioenergy, Bioprospecting, Developmental Biology, Genetics & Plant Breeding, and Nanobioscience.
It is affiliated with the S.P. Pune University for postgraduate research (M.Sc. and Ph.D.).
