5. Qualifications : Essential:(i)Masters(1st class) in Agriculture with specialization in Plant Pathology with 4 years bachelor's degree OR (ii)Masters(1stclass) in Biotechnology/Botany with 3 years bachelor's degree. Applicant must be qualified in any one of the following tests: CSIR/UGC/ICMR including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) OR GATE. National Level examination DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc., IISER etc Desirable:(i)Research experience in Plant pathology, molecular biology, microscopy, field layout, computer skills, statistical analysis, scientific writing skills.
6. Monthly stipend: Rs.31000/-+ HRA
7. Job Location: Posting will be at Experimental and Research Farm, Hol – Soratewadi, NiraBaramati Road, Baramati Tahsil, Dist. Pune- 412305. The candidate will have to work in laboratories at Pune as and when required

Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) is an autonomous institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DST). It was established in 1946 as Maharashtra Association for the Cultivation of Science (MACS). Later, as the research activities started expanding, the MACS Research Institute was given a separate identity. The institute was renamed as ARI in 1992 to honour its founder Director, late Professor S. P. Agharkar. The current research and development activities of ARI are spread over six different themes, namely Biodiversity & Paleobiology, Bioenergy, Bioprospecting, Developmental Biology, Genetics & Plant Breeding, and Nanobioscience.
It is affiliated with the S.P. Pune University for postgraduate research (M.Sc. and Ph.D.).
