Applications are invited for three posts of Member, Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB), Department of Agricultural Research & Education (DARE), Government of India. 1. Post Name: Member 2. Classification: Group ‘A’ Equivalent 3. Pay Scale: Level-16, Basic Pay Rs.2,05,400- 2,24,400/- 4. Qualification: The three Members of the Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) shall be selected from amongst the Scientists holding the position of Professor or equivalent in the Pay Level 14 or above of 7th CPC and having at least 20 years of experience each from the following 3 groups of disciplines: i. Plant Science Group including Crop Science and Horticultural Science ii. Animal Science and Fisheries Science Group iii. Natural Resource Management, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Extension, Agricultural Education, Social Sciences like Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Statistics. 5. Tenure: The Tenure of the Members shall be for a period of 03 years or till attainment of 65 years of age, whichever is earlier. The Members so selected should not retain any lien in his/her previous organization.

Age Limit: Upper Age Limit: 62 years
Selection Procedure
The selection shall be carried out by a high level Search-cumSelection Committee (SCSC) appointed by the Ministry/Department for the purpose as per extant DoP&T instructions. The appointment shall be made with the approval of Appointment Committee of Cabinet (ACC).

The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) was established with the approval of Cabinet on 1 November 1973 as an independent recruitment agency in pursuance of the recommendations of the Gajendragadkar Committee.The Government of India has approved restructuring Board as per their decision in the meeting of the Union Cabinet held on 1 August, 2018 and issued vide Notification No. 25/CM/2018(i) dated 06.08.2018; Case No.213/25/2018 (Item-7). The decision has been formally notified in the GOI Gazette on 9 August, 2018.Consequently, ASRB has been delinked from ICAR and attached with the Department of Agricultural Research & Education (DARE) under Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India. Further, the revamped Boards shall have its own Cadre of administrative staff in the secretariat and have independent administrative control on the said Cadre. A separate budget head for ASRB has been created in DARE.
