Note: The Pay Level of 13-A1+ corresponds to the MoH&FW (INI-I-Section), Govt. of India Letter No. V-16020/28/2017-INI-I (Pt.), dated 23 August 2018. NPA (Non-Practicing Allowance) is admissible for medically qualified candidates only. Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Associate Professor – General Surgery (General Discipline)

  • A medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule, or Part II of the Third Schedule, to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 (candidates possessing qualifications in Part II of the Third Schedule must also fulfil conditions specified in Section 13(3) of the Act).
  • A postgraduate qualification, e.g. M.D./M.S., or a recognised qualification equivalent thereto, in the respective discipline/subject.
  • Experience: Six years of teaching and/or research experience in a recognised institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D./M.S. or a qualification recognised as equivalent thereto.

Associate Professor – Neurosurgery (Super-Specialty Discipline)

  • A medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule, or Part II of the Third Schedule, to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956.
  • A postgraduate qualification, e.g. M.D./M.S., or a recognised qualification equivalent thereto, in the respective discipline/subject.
  • And/or D.M. (2-year, 3-year, or 5-year recognised course) in the respective discipline for medical super-specialties, or M.Ch. (2-year, 3-year, or 5-year recognised course) in the respective discipline for surgical super-specialties, or a qualification recognised as equivalent thereto.
  • Experience – Option A: Four years of teaching and/or research experience after obtaining D.M./M.Ch. (2-year or 5-year recognised course after MBBS).
  • Experience – Option B: Three years of teaching and/or research experience after obtaining a 3-year recognised D.M./M.Ch. qualification.

DNB Equivalence Clause: Candidates holding DNB in broad or super-specialities must produce documentary evidence of DNB equivalence with M.D./M.S./D.M./M.Ch. as per MCI New Delhi notification dated 31 October 2018. DNB candidates trained under Para 2(a) & (b) of that notification do not require extra experience; those trained under Para 2(c) & (d) require 1 year & 2 years extra experience respectively.

Reservation & Age Relaxation: 4% horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) as per GoI guidelines. One year relaxation in teaching/research experience for SC/ST candidates. Age relaxation: 10 years for PwBD; 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC; 5 years for Government servants (as per DoPT instructions). Age is counted as on the closing date of the online application. OCI cardholders under Section 7(A) of the Citizenship Act, 1955 are eligible to apply for teaching posts as per MHA Order No. 26011/52/2016-OCI dated 02 August 2018. Experience is counted as on 31 December 2026.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

  1. Step 1 – Online Application & Hard Copy Verification: Candidates submit the online application on the AIIMS Mangalagiri website, pay the application fee, download the signed application, and submit the hard copy with all documents via Speed Post/Courier to the Recruitment Cell within 10 days of the online closing date. Self-attested documents must also be emailed as a single PDF to [email protected].
  2. Step 2 – Document Verification: Candidates called for interview must produce all relevant original documents for verification before the interview. They may also be asked to submit an affidavit/declaration as decided by AIIMS Mangalagiri at the time of interview.
  3. Step 3 – Interview by Standing Selection Committee: After verification of documents, the duly constituted Standing Selection Committee shall conduct the interview/selection process for only eligible candidates. Candidates must score minimum qualifying marks (suitability standard) in the interview for empanelment in the order of merit:

Screening Clause: Candidates not scoring the minimum qualifying marks/suitability standard will not be considered for selection irrespective of their merit position. Mere appearing in the interview does not confer any right to selection. No correspondence or queries will be entertained regarding conduction and result of the interview or reasons for not being called for interview. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview. All disputes will be subject to jurisdiction of Court of Law at Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Appointment is subject to medical fitness as declared by the competent Medical Board and a probation period of two years. Selected candidates will not be given a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to apply for other posts/institutes for a period of one year from the date of joining.
