Eligibility Criteria (In-Depth)

1. Educational Qualification

Essential Qualifications (Same for both Economics & Geography posts):

  • Post-Graduation in the relevant subject (Economics/Geography) with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.
  • B.Ed. degree with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.
  • NET/SET/Ph.D.: Must have cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Level Eligibility Test (SLET/SET) OR Ph.D. Degree in accordance with UGC Regulations (2009 or 2016).

Exemption from NET/SET: Candidates with a Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 in World University Rankings (QS/THE/ARWU) are exempted.

2. Age Limit

  • The recruitment is primarily for Guest Faculty engagement.
  • Superannuated teachers may also be considered subject to a maximum age limit of 70 years.

3. Age Relaxation (As per UGC Regulations 2018)

  • 5% Relaxation: Allowed at Bachelor's & Master's level for SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy Layer)/Differently Abled candidates (eligibility marks reduce from 55% to 50%).
  • Ph.D. Relaxation: A relaxation of 5% (from 55% to 50%) for Ph.D. holders who obtained Master's degree prior to 19.09.1991.

Selection Procedure

This is a Walk-in-Interview process. There is no preliminary written exam.
