Eligibility for General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO)

• Essential Qualification: A recognized Medical qualification included in the first or the second schedule or part-II of the third schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of qualifications in Part II of the third schedule must fulfil conditions under sub-section (3) of section 13 of the IMC Act, 1956. Compulsory rotation internship is required. Registration with Central/State Council is mandatory.
• Experience: Experience certificate (if any).
• Age Limit: Not exceeding 30 years (as on 30-01-2026).
• Salary Structure:
  • South Andaman District Hospitals: Rs. 99,000/- per month
  • North & Middle Andaman District Hospitals: Rs. 1,00,000/- per month
  • Nicobar Group of Islands (including Hut bay): Rs. 1,12,000/- per month

Selection Process

• The selection will be based on a Walk-in Interview.
• Tentative dates for the interview are 11 February 2026 to 12 February 2026 (10:00 A.M to 4:00 P.M).
• List of eligible candidates will be published on 06 February 2026.
