Eligibility for Financial Literacy Counsellor

  • Essential Qualification: A graduate degree from a recognized University.
  • Preference: Candidates with post-graduate degrees in Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Sociology, Psychology, or Social Work.
  • Language & Skills: Must be well conversant with the local language and have a flair for teaching and computer knowledge.
  • Experience (Any one of the following):
    • Ex-bankers with a minimum of 5 years of experience in any nationalized Bank/RRB/Private Bank.
    • Persons with minimum 5 years of experience in banking or related fields (NBFCs/FIs).
    • Business Correspondent/BC-Coordinator with minimum 5 years of experience.
    • Ex RSETI Director/Faculty with minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Age Limit: Maximum age at the time of appointment should not exceed 64 years, subject to good health.
  • Residency: Candidates should preferably be residents of the same district where the vacancy is declared (Ajmer).

Salary and Benefits

  • Monthly Remuneration: A consolidated amount of Rs. 15,000/- per month.
  • Conveyance Expenses: Maximum Rs. 5,000/- per month on a reimbursement basis, depending on the number of camps conducted:
    • Rs. 3,000/- for less than 10 camps/month.
    • Rs. 5,000/- for 10 or more camps/month.
  • Halting Allowance (HA): Rs. 200/- (for more than 8 hours without night stay) or Rs. 500/- (for night stay).
  • Leave Entitlement:
    • Casual Leave: 1 day for every completed month.
    • Sick Leave: 15 days full pay per year, credited pro-rata.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Carry on day-to-day activities of Financial Literacy Centers (FLCs) as per RBI guidelines.
  • Provide free counseling and debt management services to customers (excluding willful defaulters).
  • Impart financial literacy through simple messages regarding banking, saving, and borrowing.
  • Conduct literacy camps on digital banking and various Government of India schemes like PMJDY, APY, PMSBY, etc.
  • Maintain an "arm's length relationship" with the Author Bank and not promote the bank's specific products.
  • The entire district is the jurisdiction for conducting meetings and camps.

Terms of Contract

  • The appointment is purely on a temporary contract basis, not exceeding one year.
  • Renewals are subject to satisfactory performance and annual review.
  • The contract can be terminated by either side with a one-month notice.
