BARC Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 21 Scientific Officer & Technical Officer Posts

Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) has released an advertisement (No. 01/2026) inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens for the recruitment of Medical Officers. This recruitment drive offers a significant opportunity for professionals in Cardiology, Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, and other medical disciplines to join BARC Mumbai, Radiation Medicine Centre (RMC) Mumbai, and Radiation Medicine Research Centre (RMRC) Kolkata.

Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria can apply online starting from 30/01/2026. The selection process involves an interview, and in some cases, a screening test. Selected candidates will be appointed at Level 10, 11, or 12 in the Pay Matrix with Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) and other government benefits.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Scientific Officer-E (Cardiologist) - DR/01

• Essential: M.B.B.S. + M.D. (General Medicine) + DM (Cardiology) with 2 years’ experience after acquiring the requisite qualification.
  OR
  M.B.B.S. + DNB (General Medicine) + DNB (Cardiology) with 2 years’ experience after acquiring the requisite qualification.

Eligibility for Scientific Officer-E/D (Hospital Administrator) - DR/02

• Essential (SO/E): i. M.B.B.S./BDS; ii. Post Graduate Degree or PG Diploma in Hospital Administration/Management (min 1 year duration); iii. 8 years’ experience (3 years as Hospital Administrator in a hospital with min 100 bed capacity).
• Essential (SO/D): i. M.B.B.S./BDS; ii. Post Graduate Degree or PG Diploma in Hospital Administration/Management; iii. 3 years’ experience (2 years as Hospital Administrator in a hospital with min 100 bed capacity).

Eligibility for Scientific Officer-D [Otorhinolaryngology-(ENT)] - DR/03

• Essential: M.B.B.S. with M.S.(ENT) / M. D. (ENT) / DNB (ENT) from a recognized University.

Eligibility for Scientific Officer-D (Radiodiagnosis/Radiology) - DR/04

• Essential: M.B.B.S. with M.D. (Radio-diagnosis) or DNB (Radio-diagnosis) from a recognized University.
  OR
  i. M.B.B.S. and ii. PG Diploma in Radio-diagnosis/Radiology and iii. 3 years’ experience after PG Diploma.

Eligibility for Scientific Officer-D (Ophthalmology) - DR/05

• Essential: M.B.B.S. with M.S. (Ophthalmology) or DNB (Ophthalmology) from a recognized University.

Eligibility for Scientific Officer-D (Pathology) - DR/06

• Essential: M.B.B.S. with M.D. (Pathology) or DNB (Pathology) from a recognized University.

Eligibility for Scientific Officer-D (Anaesthesiology) - DR/07

• Essential: M.B.B.S. with M.D. (Anaesthesia) or DNB (Anaesthesia) from a recognized University.

Eligibility for Scientific Officer-C (General Duty/Casualty Medical Officer) - DR/08

• Essential: M.B.B.S. from a recognized University with one-year institutional experience.

Eligibility for Scientific Officer-D (Nuclear Medicine) - DR/09 & DR/12

• Essential: M.B.B.S. with M.D. (Nuclear Medicine) or DNB (Nuclear Medicine) from a recognized University.
  OR
  i. M.B.B.S and ii. PG Diploma in Nuclear Medicine and iii. 3 years’ experience after PG Diploma.

Eligibility for Technical Officer-D (Nuclear Medicine Technology) - DR/10 & DR/13

• Essential: M.Sc. with minimum 60% marks + Diploma in Medical Radio-Isotope Techniques (DMRIT)/Diploma in Nuclear Medicine Technology (DNMT)/Diploma in Fusion Imaging Technology (DFIT) with minimum 50% marks.
  OR
  M.Sc. in Nuclear Medicine Technology from a recognized University with 60% marks.
• Experience: 4 years’ experience. Experience in full-fledged Nuclear Medicine Centre having PET/CT Scanner and GAMMA camera/SPECT/ CT System will be preferred.

Eligibility for Scientific Officer-E (Nuclear Medicine) - DR/11

• Essential: M.B.B.S. with M.D. (Nuclear Medicine) or DNB (Nuclear Medicine) from a recognized University with 4 years of experience after acquiring the prescribed qualification.
