Eligibility Criteria (In-Depth)

Note: This recruitment is strictly for Indian Nationals who are retired officers from ISRO or senior space specialists.

1. Educational Qualification & Experience

Candidates must possess the following qualifications along with extensive industrial experience:

For Advisor (Space Program - Electronics System):

• Education: First class B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication/Electrical Engineering OR M.Sc. Physics.
• Preferred: Master's/Ph.D in Aerospace, Electronics, or Avionics.
• Experience: Minimum 15 years of industrial experience in Space Organizations/Space domain programmes.
• Domain Knowledge: Experience in Space Mission Design, Spacecraft Electronics, Avionics, Control System, On-Board Computing, Payloads, Sensors, Telemetry, Propulsion System, and Power System.
• Specific Requirement: Only Retired Officers of ISRO are eligible. Must be clear from Vigilance/Disciplinary angles at the time of retirement.

For Advisor (Space Program - Mechanical System):

• Education: First class B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering OR M.Sc. Physics.
• Preferred: Master's/Ph.D in Aerospace/Mechanical.
• Experience: Minimum 15 years of industrial experience in Space Organizations/Space domain programmes.
• Domain Knowledge: Awareness of Space Eco System, Policies, business opportunities in Defense. Experience with ISRO/NASA/ESA/JAXA/SpaceX preferred.
• Specific Requirement: Only Retired Officers of ISRO. Must not be bound by Confidentiality-cum-Non-Compete agreements with previous employer.

2. Age Limit

• Maximum Age: 65 years as on 01-02-2026.
• Relaxation: Relaxation may be considered for deserving applicants subject to management approval.

3. Mandatory Requirements

• Language: Proficiency in English is required (implied by technical domain).
• Vigilance: Candidates must be cleared from any vigilance or disciplinary proceedings.

Selection Process

The selection for BEL Advisor posts is based on the following stages:

The remuneration is attractive and linked to the last pay drawn:

• Basic Pay: Last pay drawn (Basic pay at superannuation from previous Government organization).
• Annual Increase: 5% increase on last drawn remuneration (excluding conveyance) per year.
• Experience Benefit: Additional 5% per year of relevant post-retirement experience can enhance the basic pay.
• Contract Period: Initial engagement is 1 year, extendable year-on-year up to a maximum of 8 years total or till age 68, whichever is earlier.
