Number of Vacancy: 2 Posts

Educational Qualification: M.Sc

Applications are invited for purely contractual engagement of the following temporary posts in the National Health Mission (NHM) funded research project entitled "Prevention of resurgence of leishmaniasis during post-elimination period in erstwhile endemic pockets of West Bengal" at School of Tropical Medicine, Kolkata. Initially the duration of the project is for 9 (nine) months, may be extended up to three years.

3. Consolidate remuneration per month : Rs. 30,000/-

4. Essential Qualification: 

a) 1st class M. Sc. degree in Zoology/ Microbiology or related discipline from any recognised university with 1 years of research experience.

b) 2nd Class M.Sc. degree in Zoology/Microbiology or related discipline from any recognised university with 2 years of research experience.

5. Desirable Qualification: 

a) Working experience in filed based epidemiological studies on Kala azar or any vector and vector borne diseases

b) Working knowledge in molecular biology technique like PCR, DNA sequencing, sequence analysis and related works etc

c) Publications in related field in journals of national & international repute

6. Job Responsibilities:

a) Participate in field based epidemiological survey in four study districts viz., Darjeeling, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur and Malda

b) To lead and carry out door to door survey

c) Entry of epidemiological survey data

d) Perform molecular biology works

e) Other relevant work assigned by the project investigators
