Educational Qualification:
Sub-Assistant Engineer: A diploma Certificate in Civil Enginee ng from the State Council for Engineering & Technical Education or its equivalent. [Candidates having higher qualifications in Civil Engineering may also apply).

Pump 0perator: Class VIII passed from a recognized Board / School or other recognized equivalent institution, Electrical Certificate from any ITI recognized by the State / Central Govt.

Barrackpore Cantonment is bounded by North Barrackpore Municipality on the north and Barrackpore Municipality on the east and south , the Hooghly River on the west.

As per Census of India 2011, Barrackpore Cantonment Board had a civil population of 17,380 of which 8872 (51%) were males and 8508 (49%) were females. Population below 6 years was 1447. The total number of literates in Barrackpore Cantonment Board was 14098 (88.47% of the population over 6 years).
