Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Sr. Advisor (Law)

  • Essential Qualification: Bachelor's degree in law from a reputed institution/University.
  • Experience: At least 15 years' working experience (post qualification) in the Power Sector/Judicial body/Regulatory/quasi-judicial body/dealing with legal matters.
  • Skills: The candidate should have excellent drafting, communication, and analytical skills and be adept at working on computers, including MS Office.
  • Desirable: In-depth understanding of the regulatory framework in the electricity sector, including the Tariff Regulations and the adjudicatory mechanism. Knowledge of relevant legislations of India. The policy framework including the National Electricity Policy and Tariff Policy. Experience in drafting orders and the process of framing/drafting regulations.

Eligibility for Advisor (Law)

  • Essential Qualification: Bachelor degree in law from a reputed institution/University.
  • Experience: At least 10 years' working experience (post qualification) in the Power Sector/Judicial body/Regulatory/quasi-judicial body/dealing with legal matters.
  • Skills: The candidate should have excellent drafting, communication, and analytical skills and be adept at working on computers, including MS Office.
  • Desirable: In-depth understanding of the regulatory framework in the electricity sector, including the Tariff Regulations and the adjudicatory mechanism. Knowledge of relevant legislations of India. The policy framework including the National Electricity Policy and Tariff Policy. Experience in drafting orders including the process of framing/drafting regulations.

Age Limit

The age of the applicant to be appointed as Individual Consultant for different categories as on 1st January of the year of advertisement shall be below 62 years; Provided that no Consultant would be retained in the Commission after attaining the age of 65 years.

Selection Process

  • The Consultants will be engaged in accordance with the terms and conditions laid down in Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Appointment of Consultants) Regulations, 2008 and its amendments.
  • The eligibility will be considered by a Consultancy Evaluation Committee (CEC).
  • Only short-listed candidates will be called for an interaction with the Selection Committee.
  • The CEC may, in its discretion, reserve the right to conduct a written test to evaluate the drafting and presentation skills of the candidates.
