Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

  • Essential:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognized University/Institute.
    • 2 years of professional experience in a Library under Central/State Govt, Autonomous bodies, PSUs, or recognized Universities/Institutions.
  • Desirable: Diploma in Computer Application from a recognized University/Institute.

2. Experience & Deputation Eligibility

Applicants must be officers from Central/State Govt, UTs, PSUs, recognized Universities, or Autonomous bodies possessing one of the following:

  1. Holding analogous posts on a regular basis in the parent cadre/department.
  2. With 6 years of regular service in Level 5 (Rs. 29,200-92,300) or equivalent.
  3. With 10 years of regular service in Level 4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100) / Level 3 (Rs. 21,700-69,100) / Level 2 (Rs. 19,900-63,200).

3. Age Limit & Relaxation

  • Maximum Age: 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications (13 March 2026).
  • Age Calculation: Age is calculated as of the closing date of application submission.
  • Departmental Candidates: Departmental Library Clerks in Level 2 with 10 years of regular service and the requisite degree are also eligible.

Central Institute of Psychiatry is a premier institution for mental health in India. The British established this hospital on 17th May, 1918 with the name of Ranchi European Lunatic Asylum.
