Note: Out of the total 27 posts, 2 posts are reserved horizontally for Ex-Servicemen (ESM). Posts are at CSIR-CMERI, Durgapur and its Extension Centre at Ludhiana, Punjab. Pay Level: Level-2 (₹19,900 – ₹63,200) with approx. total emoluments of ₹39,000 per month.

Educational Qualification & Experience:SSC/10th Standard with Science subjects (minimum 55% marks) along with an ITI/Trade Certificate OR 2 years of Apprentice Trainee experience OR 3 years of work experience in the relevant trade from a recognized institution/Government organization.
Age Limit:Minimum 18 years and Maximum 28 years as on 03.08.2026. Relaxations for SC/ST, OBC-NCL, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and Departmental candidates as per Government of India rules.
Salary & Emoluments: Pay Level-2 (₹19,900 – ₹63,200) as per 7th CPC. Approximate total emoluments: ₹39,000 per month (inclusive of Basic Pay, DA, HRA, and TA). Usual allowances (DA, HRA, TA), medical benefits, LTC, and House Building Advance are admissible as per CSIR rules.
Selection Procedure:
- Screening of online applications by a Screening Committee.
- Trade Test (Qualifying in nature) for shortlisted candidates.
- Competitive Written Examination (Objective Type) for candidates who qualify in the Trade Test.
Application Fee (Non-Refundable): ₹500/- for all candidates except Ex-Servicemen, SC, ST, Women, and PwBD candidates (who are exempted). Fee must be paid online through SBI Collect only.
