Educational Qualification: M.E/M.Tech, M.Phil/Ph.D
Eligible candidates are invited to apply online for time bound and contractual engagement of non-regular nature as Research Associate Category -I (RA-I) at this Institute under DST-SERB Project entitled "Prospecting Heat Stress Tolerance through Genome-edited Heat Shock Factors and NAC-domain transcription factors in Flax (Linum usitatissimum)"
1. Nature of manpower engagement: Research Associate Category -I (RA-I)
2. No of Post: 01
3. Essential:
(i) Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Biochemistr y/ or (ii) having at least three years of research experience after M. Tech in the Plant Science/Plant biotechnology or allied subjects with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal.
4. Desirable: Research experience in Plant biotechnology / Plant transformation /Plant genomics evidenced by at least three research publications in high impact factor journals is desirable.
5. Emoluments: Rs. 47,000/- plus 24% HRA per month)
6. Duration of the project: 31.03.2023 (may be extended as per ICAR and SERB guidelines )

Selection Procedure
1. Only short listed candidates will get email and online credential/link for the interview through their email ID (given in their application proforma) on 21.03.2022
2. Maximum 10 numbers of eligible shortlisted candidates will be called for the online panel interview. No one will be allowed to appear in the interview unless he/she is called for the interview.

2. All candidates must send the prescribed application form to [email protected] by making a single PDF file including duly filled application proforma and all other required documents.
3. The PDF file name should be given as candidate's full name followed by his/her year of birth, like shyamkumar1990 where Shyam Kumar is full name and year of birth is 1990.
4. Candidates are required to send scanned copies of duly filled application along with all the documents by making a single PDF file addressed to the Director, ICAR-CRIJAF, Barrackpore, affixed with recent passport size photograph and copies of self-attested marksheeets, certificates in support of age, qualifications, experience (if any), testimonials, caste (if any) and other credentials to [email protected] within 05:00 PM on 15.03.2022.
5. The applications received after the mentioned date & time limit will be summarily rejected.

ICAR-CRIJAF is a premier institute on jute & allied fibre crops of ICAR under Crop Science is situated at Nilganj, Barrackpore (6.0 Km from Barrackpore railway station) and about 20 Km from Dum Dum Airport (NSC Bose International Airport). The institute mainly deals with 6 natural fibre crops viz., Jute, Sisal, Ramie, Sunnhemp, Mesta and Flax. The institute has four Research Stations viz., Sunnhemp Research Station, Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh; Ramie Research Station, Sorbhog, Assam; Sisal Research Station, Bamra, Odisha and Central Seed Research Station for JAF, Budbud, West Bengal. It has two KVK's under administrative control of ICAR-CRIJAF, one is located at Budbud in Burdwan district and one at CRIJAF campus of Barrackpore, West Bengal.
