Educational Qualification:
Professor: MFSc / MSc (Aquaculture/ Biological sciences/ Fisheries/ Marine Biology) And BFSc/ BSc (Aquaculture/ Biological sciences/ Fisheries/ Marine Biology) with 2 years’ experience in marine ornamental fish hatchery may also be considered.
Assistant Professor: An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work.
Associate Professor: i. A good academic record, with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines. ii. A Master‘s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the grading system is followed).

The President of India gave assent to The Central Universities Act, 2009 that envisages establishing and incorporating universities for teaching and research in the various states.
The Central University of Jharkhand came into being under this Act on 1st of March, 2009. The Visitor of the Central University of Jharkhand, Her Excellency, Shrimati Pratibha Devisingh Patil, appointed Dr. Darlando T. Khathing, an internationally renowned scientist and a distinguished academic administrator, as its first Vice Chancellor.
