Eligibility Criteria for Coal India Executive Director Recruitment 2026

Educational Qualification (Minimum):

• Degree in Engineering (any discipline) OR
• MSW (Master of Social Work) OR
• MBA or equivalent from a recognized University/Institution OR
• Chartered Accountant (ICAI) OR
• Post-graduation in Management / HRM / Behavioral Sciences / Finance & Accounts

Added Advantage: Doctorate degree in Management, HRM, Behavioral Sciences, Finance & Accounts, or Engineering.

Experience:

• Minimum 25 years of overall executive cadre/officer grade experience, with specific sub-criteria:
  • Option A: 10 years (including last 2 years) in a reputed Management Institute / Training Institute, OR
  • Option B: 2 years as Dean/Head of Dept./Professor-in-charge during 10 years in such institutes, OR
  • Option C: 4 years out of last 8 years in corporate HRD/T&D setup, OR
  • Option D: 2 years as full-time Board member (training & development) in Mini Ratna-I CPSE, or 2 years as CMD of Mini Ratna-I CPSE.
• For PSE/Government candidates: Minimum 2 years cumulative experience in E8/E9 grade or equivalent (Level 14 CDA).
• For Private sector candidates: Must be from large Public Limited Company (net worth ≥ ₹500 crore, executive manpower ≥ 1000) in Mining/Manufacturing (Coal, Power, Steel, Petroleum & Gas).

Age Limit:

Maximum 62 years as on the date of notification (12.08.2026). Age relaxation as per Government guidelines for reserved categories.

Medical Fitness:

Must be certified medically fit by a Company Medical Officer.

Salary & Benefits (Executive Director – IICM)

The selected candidate will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration as per the IDA E9 scale: ₹1,20,000 – ₹2,80,000 (pre-revised). The engagement is for an initial period of 2 years, extendable by another 2 years at the discretion of the Chairman, CIL.
