Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Mahsul Sevak (Kotwal) – Educational Qualification: Minimum pass in Class 4 (इयत्ता ४ थी उत्तीर्ण) and knowledge of the Marathi language. Submitting a copy of the minimum qualification certificate is mandatory.
• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 40 Years
• Age Calculated As On: 02 October 2026 (date of notification publication)
• Age Relaxation: Not applicable for this post. Apart from social, economic and women's reservation, no age concession applies.
• Residence Requirement: Candidates must be residents of a village in Ratnagiri taluka and submit a residence certificate from the Tahsildar.
• Reserved Category Conditions: Backward-class candidates must produce original caste certificate and caste validity certificate at verification. If a temporary appointment is given without the caste validity certificate, it must be submitted within six months or service will be terminated (per GAD GR dated 12/12/2011). OBC/SEBC candidates must attach a valid Non-Creamy Layer certificate. EWS candidates must attach a valid EWS certificate as per GR dated 12/02/2019.
• Women Candidates: Must submit the application in their maiden name (name by birth) in the prescribed format.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

Selection is through a written examination followed by document verification. There is no interview or physical test.

Written Examination Pattern

• Subjects: General Knowledge, Arithmetic, Marathi Language, Geographical and Historical Information of Ratnagiri District, etc.
• Exam Date: 15 November 2026 (centre and time as printed on admit card)
• Governing GR: Revenue and Forest Department Government Resolution dated 17/05/2023

After the examination, the answer key will be displayed on the notice boards of the Tahsil Office Ratnagiri and Sub-Divisional Officer Office Ratnagiri. The answer key is final and no objections will be accepted. The result and merit list will be published on the same notice boards.

• Merit Order: Based on marks obtained out of 100 in the written examination.
• Waiting List: Category-wise selection list and waiting list will be prepared. If a selected candidate does not join within 15 days of the appointment order, the next waiting-list candidate will be appointed.
• Post-Selection Requirements: Within 1 month of selection, candidates must submit a Character and Conduct Certificate and a Medical Fitness Certificate from the District Surgeon, Ratnagiri. Candidates must take the oath of loyalty to the Constitution of India and submit an undertaking to reside in the assigned saja.
• Traveling Allowance: No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the written examination or attending document verification.

How to Apply (Offline Mode)

1. Collect the prescribed application form from the Tahsildar Ratnagiri office. The form costs Rs. 50/- in cash (receipt given).
2. Fill the form completely and clearly, stating your reservation category (if applying under a reserved category).
3. Paste a self-attested recent colour photograph in the designated space and attach two more colour photographs.
4. Attach the Small Family Certificate and all self-attested/attested copies of required documents.
5. Place the application and documents in a sealed envelope with your full name written on it.
6. Submit the application in person at the Tahsildar Ratnagiri office with Rs. 500/- examination fee in cash, between 02 October 2026 and 17 October 2026 during office hours (excluding government holidays).
7. Collect the admit card between 08 November 2026 and 10 November 2026 from the Tahsil Office Ratnagiri after showing an identity proof.
