Cotton University, Panbazar, Guwahati has released a recruitment notification for the post of Junior Assistant. Interested candidates can apply online before 02 February 2026.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Junior Assistant

• Essential: Graduate degree from a UGC Recognized University.
• Experience (Preferable): Working experience in Government offices, reputed Government institutions of Higher Education, or Research institutions.
• Desirable: Proficiency in English and Assamese (speaking, reading, and writing). Capability of multi-tasking and working knowledge of computers.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit is determined as per Govt. O.M. No. ABP.6/2016/51 dated 2nd September 2020.
• Age is calculated as of 01-07-2025.
• Proof of Age: Only the Admit card or pass certificate of HSLC/HS (or equivalent) from a recognized board is accepted.
• Regular employees of Cotton University have no upper age limit.

Salary

Scale of Pay: Rs. 14,000/- to Rs. 70,000/- plus Grade Pay Rs. 8700/-.

Selection Process

• Applications will be screened for a written test; qualifying candidates will be shortlisted.
• Meeting minimum criteria does not guarantee a call for a skill test.
• Weightage for Existing Staff: Current contractual or temporary workers at Cotton University with desired qualifications receive a weightage of 2 marks per year of service, up to a maximum of 10 marks (for 5 or more years).
• Probation: Selected candidates will be on probation for one year.

Application Fees

• Standard Fee: Rs. 1,000/- (Non-refundable).
• Relaxation: 50% relaxation for SC/ST category as per Govt. of Assam policy.
• Note: Reserved category candidates applying for unreserved posts must pay the full fee.

2. Upload scanned copies of required documents (Class 10 Admit/Certificate, Degree Certificates/Marksheets, Caste/PWD certificates, and Form "A" family declaration).
3. Submit a printed copy of the online form with documents to: Registrar, Cotton University, Administrative Building, Panbazar, Guwahati-781001 by post or in person.
4. Current employees must provide a 'No Objection Certificate' (NOC).
