a) Defence Bioengineering and Electromedical Laboratory (DEBEL), Bangalore, a premier Institute of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is engaged in research and development work in Life Support Systems, Biomedical devices, Environmental Protection Systems and Aircrew Protective Systems. DEBEL is looking for meritorious, young and motivated researchers to pursue a career in these frontier areas.

b) The laboratory is well equipped with state-of-the art infrastructure facilities for undertaking pioneering research and provides an excellent environment for professional grov.dh. DEBEL invites applications from young and meritorious indian Nationals with requisite qualifications, who desire to pursue defence-related research as Junior Research Fellows.

1. Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellows

2. No of Post: 11

3. Salary: The Fellowships shall be awarded initially for a period of years (extendable as per rules), with monthly emoluments of Rs. 31,000/- plus House Rent Allowance as admissible under the rules.

4. Essential Educational Qualification: 

a) BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 1st Division with valid NET/ GATE qualification. OR ME/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with 1st Division both at Graduate & Postgraduate level.

b) BE/B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering with 1st Division with valid NET/ GATE qualification. OR ME/M.Tech in Biomedical Engineering withlst Division both at Graduate & Postgraduate level.

c) BE/ B.Tech in Polymer Science & Technology/Textile Engineering/Textile Technology/Textile Chemistry/ Fibre Science with 1st Division with valid NET/GATE qualification. OR ME/ M. Tech in Polymer Science & Technology/Textile Engineering/Textile Technology/ Textile Chemistry/Fibre Science with 1st Division both at Graduate & Post- graduate level.

d) Master's Degree in Chemistry with 1st division with valid NET qualification. OR BE/ B. Tech in Chemical Engineering withlst Division with valid NET/ GATE qualification. OR ME/ M. Tech in Chemical Engineering with 1st Division both at Graduate & Postgraduate level.

Pay Scale: INR 31000(Per Month)

Selection Procedure

Screening of the applications will be carried out by a duly constituted Screening Committee and the shortlisted candidates will be interviewed through web-based video conference over the internet and the schedule of interview will be intimated beforehand via email. Therefore, the candidates should possess an active email ID and check the same periodically till the selection process is completed. Only candidates shortlisted by the Screening Committee will receive communication for the further selection procedures. Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification of candidature.

Important Instructions:

1. Only candidates possessing the above-mentioned qualification(s) need to apply. All the qualifications acquired should be from recognized Universities/ Institutions.Candidates working in Government/Public sector undertaking/ autonomous bodies should apply through proper channel.

2. Candidates should ensure Internet connectivity, Webcam, and necessary software at their end to attend the online interview through video conference and DEBEL shall not be responsible for any connectivity failure or communication faults during the online interview.

3. Based on the online interview, a Panel of candidates for the anticipated vacancies will be drawn and the Panel would operate for a period of one year. However the mere fact of empanelment will not entitle any candidate to an offer of Fellowship, which is contingent upon occurrence of vacancies during the year and actual number of vacancies may vary as per Organisational requirement. Director DEBEL reserves the right not to select any candidate, if suitable candidates are not available.

4. The Fellowships shall be awarded initially for a period of years (extendable as per rules), with monthly emoluments of Rs. 31,000/- plus House Rent Allowance as admissible under the rules.

5. It may be noted that offer of Fellowship does not confer on Fellows any right for absorption in DRDO.

6. Candidates presently employed in Government Departments/ PSUs/ Autonomous Bodies will be required to produce NOC at the time of interview

7. Antecedents of candidate will be verified again at the time of joining, if selected.

8. The selected candidate(s) may be allowed to register for PhD as per extant regulations with any recognized University/Institution during the tenure of fellowship.
