1. Educational Qualification

    • Higher marks in 1st, 2nd & 3rd MBBS exams.
    • Candidate from the older admission batch.
    • Older candidate (by Date of Birth).

About Directorate of Medical Education and Research Mumbai

The Directorate of Medical Education and Research came into existence independently from 1st May, 1970. The Directorate manages and controls 52 institutes including 17 government medical colleges, affiliated hospitals and 3 government dental colleges in the state. The main duty of this department is to impart undergraduate and postgraduate medical education to the students of government medical colleges and to make them socially useful doctors.
The second duty is to provide the necessary facilities in these medical colleges as per the standards of the Indian Council of Medical Sciences and to provide referral services to the patients while maintaining the quality of education. Patients, illnesses and related research are an integral part of this department.
