Directorate of vocational Education & Training, Mumbai has established in 1984, for the effective implementation of vocational education training schemes in Maharashtra.
At state level all these schemes works under the Director and monitored by Department of Higher and Technical Education. But at the central Government level, these schemes are Monitored by Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Aims of DOEO is to encourage institutes for developing human resource to reduce the mismatch between demand and supply of manpower in various sectors like Engineering, Information Technology, Agriculture, Paramedical Home Science, Trade & Commerce etc.
The organisation is also linked with Industries, Institutes, Research & Development Organisation pass out Students / Apprentices for mutual benefits. Its objectives are to ensure steady flow of skilled workers in different trades for the industries. Reduce unemployment among the educated youth by equipping them for suitable industrial employment.
