Eligibility for Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs)
- Essential Qualification: At least Matriculation, possess the capacity for overall comprehension, and have a mindset to assist the needy in society. The applicant must demonstrate compassion, empathy, and concern for the upliftment of marginalized and weaker sections of society. They must also have an unflinching commitment to the cause, which should be reflected in their work.
- Experience: Refer to official notification
- Desirable: Refer to official notification
- Eligible Groups: Teachers (including retired teachers); Retired Government servants and senior citizens; MSW students and teachers; Anganwadi Workers; Doctors/Physicians; Students and Law Students (till they enrol as lawyers); Members of non-political, service-oriented NGOs and Clubs; Members of Women Neighbourhood Groups, Maithri Sanghams, and other Self-Help Groups including of marginalized/vulnerable groups; Educated Prisoners with good behaviour serving long-term sentences in prisons; Widows of deceased defence personnel; Ex-servicemen or their dependents residing in civilian areas; Spouses or adult children of currently serving defence personnel; Any other person whom the District Legal Services Authority deems fit to be identified as a PLVs.
- Nationality/Citizenship: Candidates must be Indian citizens and local residents of Darrang District.
Selection Process
Candidates will be selected through Shortlisting followed by Walk-in Interview and Training. Selected PLVs will be required to undergo a training programme as per the schedule of DLSA, Darrang.
