ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Indore has invited applications for 86 contract posts across four designations. The engagement is on a contract basis for one year, extendable up to three years depending on satisfactory performance and functional requirement. The maximum age limit for teaching faculty posts is 69 years and for Senior Residents is 45 years (with relaxation as per Government of India norms).

Allowances: NPA at 20% (wherever admissible), DA at 60%, HRA at 20%, TA at Rs. 7,200 plus DA thereon. Remuneration is revised automatically when the DA rate is revised; no arrears for retrospective rate revisions. Total consolidated remuneration as per ESIC Medical Administration Office Memoranda Z-17/11/1/2007/Med.IV dated 13.04.2022 and Z-11012/51/2022-MED-VI dated 08.12.2022.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

General Eligibility

• Eligibility for the qualifying degree and experience is counted as on the 15th of every month.
• Candidates must hold an updated Medical Registration (NMC or State Medical Council) covering all post-MBBS, MD/MS/DNB qualifications. If not updated, a copy of the "Applied for" registration document must be produced at the interview.
• Selected candidates must submit the updated Medical Registration Certificate when reporting to join.
• Candidates working in Government, Autonomous, Statutory, or Private institutions should preferably bring an NOC from their employer; if not immediately available, a copy of the "Applied for NOC" should be submitted. Candidates already working at ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Indore need not produce an NOC.
• No private practice is allowed in any capacity after joining as teaching faculty.

Post-Wise Qualifications (per NMC guidelines)

• Professor: MBBS with MD/MS/DNB in the relevant department, along with the postgraduate qualification and experience as prescribed by NMC (formerly MCI) guidelines for the post of Professor in the relevant discipline.
• Associate Professor: MBBS with MD/MS/DNB in the relevant department, as per NMC/MCI guidelines for the post of Associate Professor.
• Assistant Professor: MBBS with MD/MS/DNB in the relevant department, as per NMC/MCI guidelines for the post of Assistant Professor.
• Senior Resident: MBBS with MD/MS/DNB in the relevant department or qualification prescribed by NMC for Senior Resident posts.

Rules for Candidates Eligible for Higher or Lower Posts

• As per ESIC Headquarters memoranda dated 22.01.2018 and 28.10.2020, a candidate eligible for a higher post may be interviewed against a lower post. If selected, the candidate may be placed with a suitable upgradation as per eligibility and the Selection Board's recommendation. The upgradation is temporary and limited to the contract tenure or until a regular incumbent is appointed.
• In Super Specialty departments, if no suitable eligible candidate appears, a candidate eligible for a lower post may be interviewed against Associate Professor or Professor. If selected, the candidate is appointed to the lower post with down-gradation.
• If no suitable candidate appears for an advertised post in Super Specialty departments, the Selection Board may relax experience criteria and allow such candidates to be interviewed, with selection as per the Board's recommendation.

Age Limit

• Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor: Not exceeding 69 years
• Senior Resident: Not exceeding 45 years (relaxation as per prevailing Government of India norms)
• Maximum tenure of engagement for teaching faculty is up to 70 years of age or the contract period, whichever is earlier.

• EWS: Certificate as per Annexure-I of DoPT OM No. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res), dated 31.01.2019
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Certificate issued not earlier than one year before the interview date, in Government of India format, by an officer not below the rank of Sub-Divisional Officer or equivalent
• PwD (Divyangjan): Reservation as per Government of India norms

Selection Process & Screening Clause

Selection for ESIC Indore Teaching Faculty and Senior Resident posts is based on acquired academic credentials and performance in a walk-in interview before the Selection Board. The mode of interview is offline (walk-in). There is no written screening test unless specified by the Board.

Application Process Instructions

1. Visit www.esic.gov.in/recruitments between the 1st and 7th of each month to check the vacancy notification.
2. Fill the prescribed application format in black or blue ink in BLOCK letters with a recent self-attested passport-size photograph. File a separate form for each post.
3. Scan the application form, Demand Draft (where applicable), and all self-attested supporting documents — including research publications and conference papers — as a single PDF in checklist order.
4. Email the PDF to the designated address by 4:00 PM on the 15th of the month (or the next working day if the 15th is a holiday). Write Name, Post, and Department in the email subject. Emails after the deadline are not accepted.
5. Send the original application form with self-attested documents and original Demand Draft (if applicable) to The Dean, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Nanda Nagar, Indore (M.P.) – 452011, to reach on or before the interview date (the 17th of every month as written in the notification). 6. Report for the walk-in interview at 9:00 AM with original documents for verification. For October 2026, the interview is on 19/10/2026.

Important: Applications in any other format or incomplete applications will be summarily rejected. Canvassing in any form will debar the candidature. Wrong declarations or false information can lead to cancellation of candidature at any stage. The Dean, ESIC MCH, Indore reserves the right to cancel or postpone the recruitment process at any stage.

Terms of Contract

• Tenure is 1 year, or until a regular incumbent joins, or until 70 years of age, whichever is earlier. May be extended up to 3 years based on performance and functional requirement.
• Either side may terminate the contract with one month's prior notice without assigning a reason. Spot resignation requires depositing one month's salary to the ESI Account through challan.
• No service benefits such as PF, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Allowance, Medical Benefits, Seniority, or Promotion are admissible.
• Absence beyond 7 days without proper permission counts as voluntary abandonment and leads to automatic termination.
• Security Deposit: Rs. 20,000/- must be deposited by selected candidates. It is forfeited if the candidate resigns or leaves within six months, if the institute terminates the contract, or in case of automatic termination for absence beyond 7 days.
• Professional Indemnity Insurance: Candidates involved in patient care must hold a professional indemnity policy covering the contract period — Rs. 30 lakhs per annum for clinical specialties (Anaesthesiology, ENT, Eye, Medicine, O&G, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Surgery, Accident & Emergency, ICU, Cardiology, Medical Oncology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Surgical Oncology, Urology, Rheumatology); Rs. 20 lakhs for Chest; Rs. 10 lakhs for Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Dermatology, Radiology, Psychiatry and Dental. A copy of the insurance and premium receipt must be submitted within 7 days of engagement, otherwise service is terminated.
• The contract is signed on a non-judicial stamp paper of Rs. 500/- (or as applicable). The selected candidate brings the blank stamp paper purchased between the result date and reporting date.
• Leave Policy: 2.5 days credited for each completed month. No Earned Leave, Special Casual Leave, or Commuted Leave is allowed. Sunday and holiday duty is by rotation.
• Attendance: Must be marked manually and on the Aadhaar Enabled Bio-metric Attendance System (AEBAS) daily on scheduled working days.
