Post-Wise Vacancy Breakdown (Department-wise)

ESI-PGIMSR, Joka has announced 85 vacancies for the post of Senior Resident under the Residency Scheme on a contractual basis under the 7th CPC. The walk-in interviews are scheduled in two batches based on department category.

Non-Clinical Departments – Interview on 03-11-2026

Clinical Departments & Super Specialties – Interview on 04-11-2026

Grand Total: 17 (Non-Clinical) + 68 (Clinical & Super Specialties) = 85 Vacancies. As per relevant rules, 4% reservation for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) is applicable where the number of vacancies is 100, subject to rules.

Pay Scale / Remuneration

In addition to the consolidated remuneration, Senior Residents will receive Transport Allowance and DA on Transport Allowance as per relevant rules. For non-medical candidates, Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) will be deducted from the consolidated remuneration. HRA will not be allowed if residential accommodation/quarter is provided.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Clinical and Non-Clinical Departments – Medical PG Degree (MD / MS / DNB) in the concerned specialty from an NMC/MCI-recognized Medical Institution/Hospital. Alternatively, Postgraduate degree in Master of Science with Doctor of Philosophy (MSc + PhD) in Medical Anatomy, Medical Biochemistry, or Medical Physiology. Candidates must be registered with MCI/NMC/State Medical Council. Candidates currently on bond are not eligible unless they provide a Bond Clearance Certificate from the Appointing Authority for the completed compulsory post-PG bond service.
• Super Specialties (Paediatric Surgery) – DM / MCh / DNB in the concerned subject; or MD / MS / DNB qualified graduates in the concerned broad specialty.

Age Limit

• Broad Specialties: Upper age limit 45 years as on the date of interview.
• Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology: Upper age limit 50 years as on the date of interview.
• Age Relaxation: Applicable as per Central Government rules in force.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

1. Document Verification: Candidates must report between 09:30 AM and 10:30 AM on the scheduled interview date at the Academic Block, 2nd Floor, ESI-PGIMSR & ESIC Medical College, Joka. Candidates reporting beyond 10:30 AM will not be considered.
2. Walk-In Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a walk-in interview immediately after successful document verification. The interview will assess the candidate's subject knowledge, clinical acumen, and suitability for the Senior Resident position.
3. Screening Test (Conditional): If the turnout of eligible candidates exceeds the ratio of 1:10 per post, a screening written test with multiple-choice questions may be conducted at the discretion of the competent authority.
4. No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for attending the document verification or walk-in interview process.
5. Contract Execution: Selected candidates must execute a contract on a stamp paper of Rs. 100/- and deposit a security amount of Rs. 32,000/- through Demand Draft in favour of 'ESI Fund Account No. 1' at the time of joining.
