Educational Qualification: B.Sc, B.Tech/B.E

Applications are invited from eligible and prospective Indian Nationals only for following purely project based temporary position under DST-SERB funded project at Kosi-Katarmal (Almora) campus of the Institute

i. DST-SERB funded CRG project titled “Geo-spatial variability of Soil Microbial Indices of Climate Sensitive Alpine Treeline Ecotone of Indian Western Himalaya and its linkages to Soil Organic Carbon Fractions”

1. Position: Project Assistant

2. No of Post: 01

3. Monthly emolument: Rs. 20000 + 8%HRA (or minimum1800 HRA)

4. Essential Qualification: 1 st Class B.Sc./B.Tech Degree in GIS & Remote Sensing or Geoinformatics or Geography or Forestry or Environment Science or Civil Engineering

5. Desirable Qualifications: 

(i) Preference will be given to Masters in the GIS & Remote Sensing or Geoinformatics or Geography or Forestry or Environment Science and having one-year hands-on experience in GIS analysis and map preparation using relevant GIS software.

(ii) Experience of Soil physico-chemical analysis

(iii) Experience in handling statistical software (e.g., SPSS R, etc.)

6. Nature of work: 

PA will be responsible for- Soil physicochemical analysis and field data collection Geo-spatial mapping of the soil indices of tree line ecotone Any other scientific/technical jobs that may be assigned from time to time and assist PIs/PA-I
