Educational Qualification:
(i) A recognized medical qualification included in the First or the Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than Licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (Act No. 102 of 1956). Holders of qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (Act No. 102 of 1956).
(ii) Postgraduate degree or equivalent qualification in the specialty concerned from a National Medical Commission (then Medical Council of India) recognized medical college/institution.
(iii) At least one year of teaching or research experience in a recognized Medical College/Teaching Institution in the subject of super-specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of Doctorate of Medicine (D.M.)/Master of Chirurgiae (M.Ch.). NOTE: For candidates with a Doctorate of Medicine (D.M.)/Master of Chirurgiae (M.Ch.) degree of three years duration, no experience is required after the qualifying degree.
(iv) Knowledge of Konkani. Desirable: Knowledge of Marathi.

Goa Medical College (GMC) is one of the oldest medical colleges in India, located in Bambolim, Goa. The college was established in the year 1842 as Escola Medico Cirurgica de Goa, which forms the steel framework of Goan Medical Space. It was later renamed Goa Medical College in 1963.
The college was originally established to train doctors to serve the Portuguese colony in Goa, but after India gained independence in 1947, it became a part of the Indian healthcare system. Today, GMC is a state-run medical institution and is affiliated with Goa University.
The college campus is spread over an area of 139 acres and includes various buildings like the main college building, library, hostels, and hospital.
Over the years, GMC has grown in size and reputation, and is now one of the most prestigious medical colleges in India. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various medical and paramedical disciplines, including MBBS, MD, MS and DM.
