Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (B.Com) with Advanced Accountancy or equivalent from a recognized university.
• Preferred/Additional Weightage: M.Com or Professional qualifications like CA (Inter) / ICWA.
• Technical Skills: Proficient knowledge of Tally Prime, PFMS, and MS Excel.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in core accounting work, including preparation of financial statements, budget, and audit replies. Experience in maintaining books of accounts through Tally Prime is mandatory.

Age Limit & Relaxation

• Minimum Age: 24 years
• Maximum Age: 35 years
• Age Cut-off Date: 31.01.2026 (Age is calculated as of this date).
• Age Relaxation: Age relaxation for SC, ST, OBC, and PwD categories will be applicable as per the rules of the State Government of West Bengal/State Legal Services Authority.

Selection Process

The selection for the Accountant post involves a multi-stage interview process:

1. Walk-in-Interview: Candidates must appear for a district-level interview at the DLSA Alipurduar center.
2. Merit List Preparation: A merit list of the top 5 candidates will be prepared based on marks scored and performance in the walk-in interview.
3. Online Live Interview: Shortlisted candidates from the merit list will undergo an online live interview conducted by the State Legal Services Authority (SLSA), West Bengal.
4. Final Approval: The final panel is subject to approval by the Hon'ble Executive Chairman, SLSA, West Bengal.
