Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Post Name: Staff Nurse, Class-3
• Qualification (Option 1): B.Sc. (Nursing) from a UGC-recognized university, approved by Gujarat Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council.
• Qualification (Option 2): Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) from an institution recognized by Gujarat Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council.
• Computer Knowledge: Basic computer application knowledge as per Gujarat Civil Services Rules. Candidates lacking certificate must submit proof before appointment.
• Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi, or both.
• Registration: Must be registered with Gujarat Nursing Council at the time of appointment (if not already registered).
• Citizenship: Indian citizen as per Gujarat Civil Services Rules.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

Selection is through a single-stage competitive written examination (MCQ) consisting of two papers:

• Paper I (Nursing): 2 hours, 100 marks covering Fundamentals of Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing, Midwifery & Paediatric Nursing, Mental Health & Psychiatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing.
• Paper II (Gujarati Language): 2 hours, 100 marks covering Language, Grammar, Literature.
• Total Marks: 200
• Negative Marking: ¼ mark deducted for each wrong answer.
• Qualifying Standard: Minimum 40% separately in Paper I and Paper II.
• Merit List: Based on combined marks of both papers for candidates clearing qualifying standards.
• Document Verification: Called for approximately twice the number of vacancies per category.
• Additional Marks: Widow and eligible sports candidates receive 5% of marks scored, subject to certificate verification.
• Note: No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the examination or document verification.
