Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Senior Resident (Ophthalmology) – Qualification

  • Degree: MBBS with a Post Graduate Degree / Diploma / DNB in the concerned specialty (Ophthalmology) from a recognized University / Institution.
  • DMC Registration: Must possess valid registration from the Delhi Medical Council (DMC) or must have the DMC acknowledgment slip on or before the date of interview. A valid DMC Registration Certificate must be submitted within 45 days of joining; failure to do so results in cancellation of candidature.
  • Residency Restriction: The candidate must not have completed 03 years of Senior Residency in any recognized Institution / Hospital, including regular and adhoc tenure.

Age Limit

  • Upper age limit: Not more than 45 years as on the date of walk-in interview (22.10.2026).

Who Should Not Apply

  • Candidates currently working on an adhoc basis in GNEC are advised not to apply for this walk-in interview.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

  • Step 1 – Enrollment & Document Verification: All eligible candidates must report to the Low Vision Clinic on 22.10.2026 between 09:30 AM and 11:30 AM. No candidate will be permitted entry after 11:30 AM.
  • Step 2 – Walk-in Interview: The interview will commence from 12:00 Noon onwards at the Office of the Director (GNEC), Maharaja Ranjit Singh Marg, New Delhi – 110002.
  • Joining: Selected candidates must join within 07 days of the issue of the offer of appointment letter, failing which the offer stands automatically cancelled.
  • TA/DA: No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for appearing in the interview.
  • Canvassing: Canvassing in any form is strictly prohibited and shall lead to cancellation of candidature.

Appointment Nature & Important Conditions

  • The appointment is purely adhoc/contractual and shall be initially for a period of 44 days or till the recruitment of a regular candidate, whichever is earlier.
  • An adhoc appointee will have no claim or stake over the post. Upon a regular candidate joining, the adhoc appointment will be terminated without any notice.
  • This is not a permanent government cadre position with lifetime pension or permanent job security.
