Educational Qualification:
Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel:
At least 10 years of experience in criminal law,
Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
Excellent understanding of criminal law,
A thorough understanding of the ethical duties of a defense lawyer,
Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others with leadership skills,
Must have the ability to handle at least 30 criminal cases in the Sessions Court, the above requirement of handling 30 criminal cases may be relaxed in appropriate circumstances,
Knowledge of computer systems is preferred.
Ability to lead a team with the ability to manage an office.
Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel:
At least 7 years of experience in criminal law,
Excellent understanding of criminal law,
Excellent oral and written communication skills,
Proficiency in legal research,
A thorough understanding of the ethical duties of a defense lawyer, Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others, Must have handled at least 20 criminal cases in the Sessions Court, may be relaxed by the Hon’ble Executive Chairman, SLSA in exceptional circumstances,
Knowledge of IT with proficiency in work.
Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel:
0 to 3 years of experience in criminal law.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Thorough understanding of the ethical duties of a defense attorney.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others.
Excellent writing and research skills.
High proficiency in IT and work.
Pay Scale:
INR
20000-100000/- Per Month
Age Limit: As Per Rules.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court is the High Court of the state of Madhya Pradesh which is located in Jabalpur. It was established as the Nagpur High Court on 2 January 1936 by Letters Patent dated 2 January 1936, issued under Section 108 the Government of India Act, 1935. This Letters Patent continued in force even after the adoption of the constitution of India on 26 January 1950 by virtue of Articles 225 & 372 thereof. The court has a sanctioned judge strength of 53.
