- Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university or its equivalent.
- Proficiency: Local language prescribed by the participating RRB; working knowledge of computers is desirable.

Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager)
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in any discipline (preference for agriculture, horticulture, forestry, animal husbandry, veterinary science, agricultural engineering, pisciculture, agricultural marketing & cooperation, IT, management, law, economics or accountancy).
- Proficiency: Local language; computer knowledge desirable.
- Experience: No prior banking experience prescribed.
- Age Limit: Above 18 – Below 30 years (born between 02.09.1995 and 01.09.2007).
Officer Scale-II (Manager)
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (preference for banking, finance, marketing, agriculture-related disciplines, IT, management, law, economics or accountancy).
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as an officer in a bank or financial institution.
- Age Limit: Above 21 – Below 32 years (born between 02.09.1993 and 01.09.2004).
Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager)
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate (preference for Degree/Diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture-related disciplines, IT, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years as an officer in a bank or financial institution.
- Age Limit: Above 21 – Below 40 years (born between 02.09.1985 and 01.09.2004).

Selection Process
- Office Assistant (Multipurpose): Preliminary Examination → Main Examination (No Interview).
- Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager): Preliminary Examination → Main Examination → Interview.
- Officer Scale-II & III (Manager/Senior Manager): Single Examination (no separate preliminary stage) → Interview.
- Interviews for Officers: Coordinated by the Nodal Regional Rural Banks with the assistance of NABARD and IBPS, tentatively scheduled for January/February 2027.

About Institute of Banking Personnel Selection
The journey of IBPS is closely associated with the major event of nationalisation of 14 major banks in 1969, and thereafter, the establishment of National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) as an apex level research and training institute for all Public Sector Banks.
Post-nationalisation, banks were required to rapidly expand their branch network to afford a larger cross-section of people the opportunity to avail “Banking Services”. In order to expand their network, banks needed to recruit. “Selecting Right People for the Right Jobs” was a critical and crucial activity for them. Banks began advertising their vacancies and were flooded with applications, the volume of which far exceeded their capacity.
