The Full-time Ph.D. fellowship runs for a maximum of 5 years or until completion of the doctoral programme, whichever is earlier. The Postdoctoral Fellowship tenure is up to 1 year. All remuneration is subject to fund availability from the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme / Digital India Corporation.

Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Ph.D. (Full-time / Part-time): M.E./M.Tech./MCA/M.Sc. or equivalent in relevant disciplines with a valid GATE/NET score or qualification through a national-level selection process conducted by IIIT Dharwad or another recognized examination. Minimum CGPA/CPI of 6.0 (General/OBC/EWS) or 5.5 (SC/ST/PwD), OR minimum 60% marks (General/OBC/EWS) or 55% marks (SC/ST/PwD) in aggregate. B.E./B.Tech./MCA degree holders may also be considered for direct Ph.D. Part-time candidates must be employed professionals in industry, R&D, or academia and must submit an NOC from their employer.
• Postdoctoral Fellowship (PDF): Must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline and be 40 years of age or below. Strong research credentials including quality publications and/or patents are desirable.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

IIIT Dharwad will shortlist candidates based on academic qualifications, research credentials, experience, and other relevant criteria. Only shortlisted candidates will be informed via email about the subsequent selection process, which includes a test and/or interview as applicable. The final admission and selection decisions rest with the Competent Authority of IIIT Dharwad. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the test or interview.

Selected candidates must not be simultaneously receiving funding from any other Government of India or State Government scheme.
