Educational Qualification:
Research Officer:
A. Master’s degree in Statistics/Bio‐Statistics & Demography/Population Studies/Demography.
B. Working knowledge of statistical & GIS software: R/Python/STATA/SPSS/QGIS/ArcGIS.
C. Working knowledge of large‐scale survey data (e.g., DHS, NSSO, LASI, World Bank, and other databases).
D. Knowledge of tools and techniques used in mortality, life expectancy, and cause‐of‐death studies.

Senior Research Officer:
A. Awarded PhD degree in Statistics/Bio-Statistics/Population Studies/Demography.
B. Five articles published in the peer-reviewed (reputed) journals related to demography/public health/geospatial analysis.
C. One year of work experience in quantitative research and data analysis in the fields of statistics/population studies/public health.
D. Familiarity with mortality and cause of death data: Global Burden of Disease (GBD), WHO Database, etc.
E. Excellent command in handling statistical & GIS software: R/Python/STATA/SPSS/QGIS/ArcGIS.
F. Strong coding and programming skills in R/Python.

Pay Scale:
INR
30,000-70,000
/- Per Month

About International Institute for Population Sciences

International Institute for Population Sciences Logo

The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai, formerly known as the Demographic Training and Research Centre (DTRC) till 1970, was established in July 1956 under the joint sponsorship of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, the Government of India and the United Nations. It serves as a regional centre for Training and Research in Population Studies for the ESCAP region. The Institute was re-designated to its present title in 1985 to facilitate the expansion of its academic activities. It was declared as a 'Deemed University' on August 14, 1985, under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The recognition has facilitated the award of recognized degrees by the Institute itself and paved the way for further expansion of the Institute as an academic institution. In 2006, the Institute celebrated its Golden Jubilee.
