Eligibility Criteria and Educational Qualification

The following eligibility conditions must be fulfilled by all applicants as specified in the official advertisement:

• PhD Degree: Candidates must hold a PhD degree from a recognized University in any research area relevant to Electrical Engineering. The PhD must have been awarded within the past 5 years from the last date of application submission (18 October 2026).

• Contingency Grant: Rs. 1,00,000 per year.
• Travel Support: Up to Rs. 2,10,000 per year, covering visa fees, one-time travel support for overseas faculty/applicants returning to India, and participation in scheme-related workshops and events upon invitation from the PhD Cell, Digital India Corporation.

Tenure: The position is full-time, non-transferable, and valid for a period of 1 year. The position is project-based and funded under the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme; it does not constitute a permanent cadre appointment.

Key Responsibilities: Project handling, research work, evaluation and mentoring of PhD candidates, collaborative research participation, and engagement in scheme workshops and events.

Selection Process and Shortlisting Criteria

The selection process for IIT Jammu Postdoctoral Fellow recruitment involves the following stages:
